Despite the wind and dirty water,I made a trip today. I have a question about the large oyster reef in the eastern side of the lake. Is it safe to run over the reef? If not, how do you fish it;it is said to hold quite a few trout.

Ive never fished that area for trout… honestly… i usually pass through Eugenia looking for redfish. I’m curious what part of the lake you are referring to and what others think.

There is a massive oyster reef on the eastern side of Lake Eugenie; it looks like a PVC forest.

depending on what you are in it is fine to run over it. Think about how much an inboard oyster boat drafts loaded with oysters. There is an old island that i usually don't cross over.
