Exactly, running yoyos was something my dad and I did after supper. We'd go set them out, bait them, hang out for a while, and then go check them. Great, quality time, that brings back lot's of fond memories.

ETA: When we lived in Vidalia, we went to Lake Bruin. Seems like I remember they had a nice beach where we spent time as kids.

The proper protocol for "abandoned" yo-yos is; 1. Remove sac, etc., place in ice box if still fresh; 2. Remove yo-yo from tree and add it to your collection; 3. repeat 1 & 2.

The yoyos hanging from brushy off pvc pipes are annoying AF.

From docks, you can catch nice flathead cats on worms etc

Find lights in 20' or so right now at night and slay the striped bass up through april.

Largemouth bite gets good in march april and also october.

Crappie i suck at but catch them on black and silver fuzzy jigs 8 foot or so

The fishing in the lake has improved dramatically over the last 5 yrs.

Back in the early 1990’s this along with lake St John and Concordia were the places to make a trip from March through May.

My friend tried to buy a fiberglass challenger bassboat from Greenwell Springs Marine for a trip with his bass club. They had to back order the boat. The trip was so important he paid cash for spectrum aluminum boat with 70 hp force outboard. When the challenger came in a week later, he sold his spectrum boat to his buddy for a $1,500 loss. That was how important it was to a lot of guys making a trip up there back in the 1990’s.

I just do not hear much about fishing up there like the talk was back in the early 1990’s.

I think the important question here is, did he get the trolling motor upgrade???!!!

Back then you could buy the 24 volt trollmotor and not have to trade in the pond puddler 12v 45 lb thrust junk for a loss.

The second owner did have the exhaust drilled out which made the boat run neck to neck to 75 hp Mercury for $1,500 less than the Mercury.
