I will be fishing in a tournament in Lafitte towards the end of next month. I have never fished the area for specks before. Will they be inshore in that area by then? If so, where is a good starting point?
I may stick to the ponds behind Bayou Dupont for some reds if the specks arent close by

That will still be the summer pattern, which means you'll have to go south to find specks for the most part. The reds will be inside as always, and Bayou Dupont area has several areas to get on the reds. One idea is simply go to Little Lake and troll the shoreline, casting spoons or spinner baits, or if legal in the tourney, I guess you could throw shrimp under a cork.

Well i fish clovelly/Delta Farms a lot so i am familiar with that side of little lake, i will try bayou dupont ponds for reds and run to across Little Lake to clovelly if i have to. Just wondering what my chances were for specks around lafitte at that time.
