Great points. I almost went the started route last year but coughing up 4K at one time is a big chunk of cash even if you do that math to make it apples and apples. I ended up buying a puppy with a good pedigree and made the decision to train myself. My problem and the main reason I wanted to go started in the first place was time, or lack of. I almost forgot the grind of training a puppy since my last puppy project was 12 years ago but this dog learns quick and I think will be a pretty good dog once I get her finished. In fact, I will probably jump back into the Hunt Test game after the season is over and work on getting her titled.

this is a great reason to get a puppy. if you enjoy training and the accomplishment you get from it and add in a little competition, then you get a hobby and a dog to hunt.
