They are native to Arkansas. They have been for decades. We used to see 1 or 2 every year around our place in south arkansas. Quit listening to the BS the game and fish tries to feed the public.

Grew up around a bunch of coon hunters that survived the great depression logging the big thicket and working at the CCC camps in that area.

This is what they always said.

You out near woods and hear something that sounds like a woman or baby screaming don't go after it.
