I mostly fish more mid/north Toledo bend... looking for some OB info on the area around Kite's Landing... fishing information, and specific information on the Landing, area, cabins, anything...

Thanks in advance for any info...

Wow! That's a blast from the past. My family used to hit Kite's a couple times every summer when I was a kid. That was back in the 80's. Used to have some decent cabins back then. I hadn't even thought about it in many years.

Thanks, Boudreaux... I can't find any of my fishing circle acquaintances that know much about the lake area as far as fishing, or more specifically the Landing/camps itself, at least as far as recent info...

If I remember correctly the only time I’ve launched at Kite’s the ramp was in pretty bad shape as well as the parking area. That was 3-4 years ago though. We fished the docks in the coves north of the ramp and did pretty good. Only time I’ve launched there. I normally launch at Pirates Cove if I am fishing south of Cypress Bend.

Army Rec is the place you want to go. If I’m not mistaken, Kites was just recently sold to a new owner. Army Rec is much nicer

I just got back from a week at Toledo. It sucked for bass. Had two boats and put in a lot of hours. I caught 3 dinks the whole trip.
We did set out 6 catfish noodles with hotdogs and night crawlers, and did really well on those.
Hell, we couldn’t even catch a bream on crickets with the kids!
A buddy has a camp there, he zeroed Saturday/Sunday himself.

I sure appreciate the reply and info LSUNeil...

do you know if the struggling at catching fish is more the "norm" around Kite's or just part of a bad week? And the landing area/camp area itself, I know it is an older marina, but you have any personal insight on the landing, marina, ramp, camp area itself?

My friend lives near Kites so I use it a lot when I am there. It is shitty. No dock so if launching solo it sucks. Parking is shitty and the ramp is on the main lake so watch the wind. There was a time I couldn't get on the trailer with the waves crashing on the ramp.

Thought it was abandoned the first time I went. So I launched and rolled out. Had a note on my windshield when I got back.
