Keeping your spot a secret

I put my boat in at Mcgowan Brake which is known for huge chinquapin. Most people fish an old power line and do real well. That was my plan that day. I was cranking my old johnson 9 1/2 and flooded the cantankerous thing.
So I put a cricket on my ultra light and tossed it by the fence bordering the ramp. Boom...cork gone. threw out another cricket and cork goes under before it hits the water.
Now others were launching so I took the cover off the motor. sometimes with a nice Chinq on the line pretending to be working on the motor. 5 or 6 people offered to help me or even tow me to the old power line but I respectfully declined.
I sat there and caught about 50 (ok maybe 70) hogs and never got 25 yards from the launch.

I use that reasoning for hunting and fishing. I used to kill so many squirrels where I could still see my truck.
Someone fishing on one side of the bayou, lake, etc. tries to cast to the other side. Look for places "too obvious".

Oh, that was you! I was the guy with the 2 kids. Thanks for the info. Should be able to tear them up there this weekend.

Used to catch a lot of white perch within sight of that launch also...of course, that was about 30 years ago before Penzoil/United Gas sold it!

I put a x on the inside of my boat where we catch fish, my own little secret.
