Kayak Fishing

Any suggestions for kayak fishing in Livingston Parish? I know we have plenty of waterways but I do not think all would be suitable for bass fishing out of a kayak.

What makes you say that? I’ve launched there at hwy22 at the blood river before and had no problems. Gotta be careful when you launch as that’s also the launch all the thousandaires with million dollar boats use, but outside of that no issues fishing.

I’m just thinking boat traffic and the speed at which the boats are traveling would not be conducive to kayak fishing.

It can be, shall we say, sketchy.
Same at 4th Street in Mandeville. The key is to go early. Most of the irresponsible boaters are not early risers. I’ve got a friend that lives down in Killian that goes out all the time on a paddle board.

Could always launch off Hwy 51 by Maurepas Swamp. There’s a boat launch off the I-55 Ruddock exit and space there on the side to put a kayak in if there’s bass boats launching. Or there’s a number of spots between Manchac and Laplace to launch a yak off the side of the road

Black Lake Club
Pete's Landing
Anywhere along I-55 in Manchac
I know there's a kayak launch out of Tickfaw State Park, but never tried it.
