Yea it's weird.
The way it grows and lays in with the other grass looks different than how it looks in those pics. Almost looks like it's another type of grass blending in with the regular centipede, until you rip it up and look at it like that

It HAS nitrogen. What exactly are you appying it to?

St. Aug. I think that is what LSU recommended I add last year when I sent in a soil sample. My grass is not a very deep green color.

They should have given you a recommendation on how much to add. If you want better color, without the added growth and subsequent mowing of nitrogen, just use some chelated iron.

Ok, I assume a feed store will have that?

I think you may be right... what's my post emergent fix?

I did a little reading up on that stuff after reading this thread. I think I'm going to go buy a couple bags and give it a try.

Signalgrass and Alexandergrass are the same thing, if I'm not mistaken. Looks like Sethoxydim will handle it.

Trying to find that, finding a lot of weed AND grass killer. Can you recommend something that will not harm the centipede but take out the signal/alexander? TIA

Sethoxydim should be in your arsenal if you have centipede.
ETA: It kills grasses like Alexandergrass and Bermuda that are in your centipede.

Thanks, mane. First time homeowner, moved in last October and still getting this 20+ year lawn in shape.
Most of the front yard is centipede, except for like 20 feet around the house, kinda strange. Backyard is all centipede

Changing America’s yard one day at a time. Worse case scenario, your grass will grow better. It cannot hurt your grass at all. Not a bit.
I will say, it’s not cheap, but I’m lazy and hate to measure. I use it once a year plus my weed and feed.
