Fostered a black lab years ago that decided to eat, not chew, our coffee table, couch and most importantly, molding on the bottom of our windows. 7 Windows to be exact.
Had to rip out and replace before we sold the house. Probably a few thousand all said and done. And this wasn't even my damn dog!

Best insurance is a sturdy Kennel and a strong leash for the next 2 years. Then 10-13 of the best years a dog can give you.
