I have 2 brothers, and in our family, it was the "coming of age" present to get a Wingmaster 870 12 ga for your 11th birthday.

The only stipulation was you had to go out in the backyard and shoot a 3" buckshot to show that you're big enough to handle that gun.

I turned 11 in 1983 and that gun still looks almost new today.

My dad taught us to respect guns and appreciate gifts. He made us break them down and clean and oil them after every hunt.(Back then we only hunted squirrels)

If more dads would teach their kids to respect firearms and what they are capable of, the world would be a better place.

You've done a great thing for your boys, now get out there and shoot some shite!
