A friend who may stretch the truth told me that he along with his grandson and guide caught three limits of trout fishing with Capt Dude severalAl years ago. In July. Back on the dock by 9:30.
I say BS.
Fishing with friends in November I’ve done just that. But never in July.
What do the veterans of hopedal fishing day?

Can be done in July. Better to fish overnight or very early in the morning.

From this past Monday in Hopedale, might as well be July. Been a fantastic year for trout. Pretty sure I could repeat results multiple days of the week. Get rid of your live shrimp and go plastic with a baitcaster. Also Berkeley gulp under a cork with just a hook.

Caught 21 in less than 3 hours. Took 4-5 hours to catch the last 4. Storm rolled up on me.

By most accounts, May-Aug is the summer run of specks in Hopedale/Delacroix, and people routinely come back to the docks with 75-150 trout in under a few hours in the morning.

Yes fishing can be good in November and into December etc., but for meat hauls, most think summer.

Was at a rodeo this past weekend in Hopedale. Several boat did well with speckled trout. Most were fishing in Bay Eloi.

My fishing partner caught a limit by 7:30 out of Hopedale last week. We caught 50+ fish a couple weeks before with 3 people by 11am or so.
