you will regret getting the sit in. Getting in is harder, rigging is not as easy, no it is not any more stable, they aren't self bailing like sit on tops, water build up in the hull, claustrophobia, the list goes on.
if it's stability you're after anything over 30" wide should suit you fine; unless you're a really fat frick, in which case you should adjust you're priorities. IE...stop being a fat frick, then get kayak.
10ft is still going to hang out the back of your truck. I would never buy one shorter than 14ft. Transporting it is not difficult, it tracks better and is faster. After 5 hours on the water and 5 miles back to the launch, you'll be glad you got a 14 footer over the 10 or 12.

on top is better for fishing. 12 will paddle better in the water. 10 would only be better in transporting IMO

Thanks for the info! I am going to do a little more research and hopefully pull the trigger on one soon. Fwiw I'm 6' 170lbs and pretty agile so I'm good on the being too fat for a kayak thing

Same yak I got. I can throw it in my Titan with a 6' bed and tie down easily. I'm 6' 185 and I am fine in it. I also got mine at academy for $500.

How does one take a piss in a kayak?
I either:
A: pull up on a bank if I'm close enough to one and no one else is around.
B: pull up next to a tree with a low enough branch I could grab on to while I stand up and piss on the tree
C: use an empty water bottle

Same here. Don't buy it on amazon.

Instead of starting yet another yak thread. I'll put this here.
I'm considering the same yak as the op as well as a hybrid style.
LINK
Selling point on the hybrid is the wife loved paddled boarding in Hawaii. I also prefer to stand and fish.
Thoughts?
