Jacksonville area fishing

I recently moved to the Jacksonville / St Augustine area and I am looking for places to fish. For now I will not have access to a boat so I am looking for areas I can get to from land.
Any places, techniques, seasonal specific tips (like in the fall....) are appreciated.
For now I am just hitting up neighborhood ponds for bass but I am hoping to start getting out to some new spots.

Surf fishing... and kayak fishing in the intercoastal areas or guana river.

Very specifically this time of year the skrimps are starting to run on the st johns river, in respectable size. Make friends with someone who has a dock and get a castnet. We're getting closer to fill a 5 gallon bucket in under an hour conditions. Ps, that is the legal limit per person/vessel here. Throwing from a dock is best during the sun down hours when they move back closer to the shore.
