iSUP Fly Fishing Setup

If this should go in the kayak fishing thread, then a mod can move it, but anyway:
My son just ordered an NRS Heron (he gets a pro deal, so ordered a nice one). Any recommendations for how you set yours up, if you have fished with one? Biggest question is whether to roll with a traditional SUP paddle or just use a kayak paddle and sit on a cooler/dry box and paddle it more like a kayak. Also curious whether to go with a traditional PFD or the inflatable waist PFDs. I figure if you go with the kayak/drybox then can just do a traditional PFD and use it as a cushion on the cooler/dry box. He'll be fishing mainly still/slow water for a while but did go with an iSup so he can fly with it to saltwater destinations as well (which might need a different setup).
Any must have accessories or setup tips?

I have a Hydrus JoyRide XL I use for this.
I have two rod holders on the back for trolling, cooler to sit on. Use a standard SUP paddle. Works great for lakes and large rivers.
Never tried saltwater.

My second reply, but I was multitasking earlier.
I used to use a waist inflatable pfd. Tested it once and had to replace the CO2, but they require user interaction to work. With cold water temps where I live and a couple of SUP deaths on cold reservoirs I switched to a foam one. It is annoying, but better than the alternative.
My SUP paddle is adjustable, so I shorten it when sitting.
My board has a lot of d-ring mounting points so there are lots of options. I started with a cooler and rod holders that strapped to it for the back and it was a pain so I switched to some that use a strap to rachet to the d-rings. Like it much better. Not these, but similar.
