Good luck hunting. I tried to go for the last 1.5 hours of daylight yesterday for the fun of it. Ended up having a blowout on a gravel road on the drive in. Spent my time hunting putting on the spare. I might give it another go this afternoon, but I feel like that was a sign I should be leaving the deer alone until next season as I originally planned.

Had 3 yearling and a small doe come in at 7:30. Held off on the small doe but I need another for the cooler so waited and a larger doe came in at 7:45. She done for sure. Blood everywhere

Found her. Ran 150 yards. Weird she made it that far because she is doubled lunged at minimum

Clipped heart then caught opposite side lung

Brand new digital showed 130 lbs but she looked more like 115-120 to me. Although I haven't weighed one in a long time so maybe Ive been shorting myself on estimates

-Sibley, MS
-Guest at a club.
-Hunting a stand nobody has hunted all year overlooking a field food plot and a creek bottom behind me.
-.243 that belongs to the old man that invited me.

I had 9 different deer in my crosshairs this morning, most in the bottom, only a small 6 in the plot. Could have shot a decent 8 pt, but he was moving in and out of some trees and I couldn’t make exactly what he was. He was cruising with 2 other bucks.

Thought about pulling the trigger, but since I’m a guest I decided to not kill him. Better safe than sorry. I enjoy getting these invitations. I will probably let that stand cool off this evening and go use my climber/bow elsewhere. I will try the box stand again tomorrow morning if I don’t kill anything this evening.

Good luck, all.

P.S. - i was filming some bird action this morning (woodpecker) when the first deer I saw this morning eased into the background of the video. It was pretty funny.
