Don’t feel bad. I’m still killing deer with a 2013 Bowtech Carbon Knight

I’m pretty sure they don’t even make that anymore.

I'll ask you and lots of others on the thread not trying to hijack...

I have had my feathermax since I was in college and I can still kill deer dead with it at 40 yards (as long as I want to shoot one with a bow). A double lung arrow is a double lung arrow how much better would a new bow really be?

For me, it was about the pleasure of the experience. Unlike you, I never really shot my Ultra Max very well. Sure, I killed deer with it, but it felt like work to shoot. It was harsh at every aspect of the shot. If you love your bow, great. I didn't realize how much I disliked mine until I shot one of the newer geometry bows. Then, there was another step up in comfort with the Halon series, maybe right before. So, the tech moved toward shooting comfort first, then added speed later without compromising comfort. This makes me shoot more often, which is a good thing. I've never been more confident. I actually envy you in a couple of ways, one of which is, just how easy it would be to improve your experience. There's been just so many great bows built after that max series. You would not need to jump up to the latest and could find a great deal on ArcheryTalk.

I was shooting my ZXT well and killing lots of deer when I upgraded to the V3.

I loved the ZXT but when I shot the V3, got it all set up, and starting slinging arrows at home, it was just next level. So much quieter. So much more steady and balanced.

Nothing wrong at all with shooting older bows but IMO if you bow hunt a lot and have the funds for an upgrade, it is well worth it

I've got an Elite Energy 32 for sale if anyone is interested. Rigged out, tuned and super super smooth draw cycle.
