great idea for a new reality tv show.
"Where the buck stops"
This season watch as 10 TD OBers meet head to head in a battle of wits and outdoorsmans skills. Each week will bring a specific outdoor skill to the table and will eliminate 1 cast member. Blind building, snake identification, buck scoring, and pig skinning are but a few of the skills planned.
At the end of week 6 with only 4 persons remaining, the tables are turned. Those 4 will be relocated and inserted in Annas Bottom with minimal protection. They will have nothing more than a smart phone with direct link to the OB and a judge loaded with 5 410 shot shells. The first person out of the Annas Bottom with one of the 3 previously released elusive uncollared dogs as a trophy wins a chance to drop their buck. Runner up gets to skin and clean the kill. However, unknown to the participants, in Annas Bottom will be some perils. WHD, a black panther, and sasquatch will all be released on consecutive days until a winner emerges.
Taxidermy for the uncollared dog will be provided by Twisted Face Bobcat Taxidermy.

Forgive my ignorance, but is that stuff often found in N. La.?

So yes, throughout LA and into east Texas.

Thanks. It has been a long time since I have been through that area of the world. I would blaze a path to get a crack at those monsters though..

I think I am going to call BS on this. While there are some decent deer in Lincoln Parish, I don't believe those pics were taken there. I can imagine those in the parishes along the MS but just not in the piney hills around Ruston.

Dude you are right. It is Rare up here but every now and then you catch some. Down south it grows like grass but there is some up here.
Bleeding makes it sound like its common. and maybe it is. I have never seen any in monroe or west monroe, but see it in Talula, Dubach (or North Ruston), and Oak grove. I see more often on the sides of I 20 near the bridges that cross those little Channels they call rivers.

Those are some abnormally huge, free-range bucks for that area. It is fishy, but could be fo real.

Call it all you want Broseph.
Just for arguments sake though, Simmons has the Buck contest every year, which is in Bastrop, and I have seen Pictures of Monsters up there. Bastrop and Ruston are not exactly close together, but are all the same type woods from what I have seen.
The guys that turns stuff in there come from I know at least Minden to Mississippi, and every monster turned in is not from the Mississippi area. They are out there.

Yeah I know about their big buck contest. I am from Richland Parish
If those really are there, then congrats and good luck!

Those split tines remind me of another NLA spot I know of. Never got to hunt it but saw a few of the mounts that came from there. First time I saw one I thought it was a mule deer. It wasn't. It was from Caddo Parish. Then he showed me two more that looked just like it.
HUGE racks with tall splits.
We had what we used to call 'blue deer' up here when I was a kid. Supposedly they were some Wisconsin stock that had been released back in the sixties. We had one we called bigfoot on our place. Looked just like that monster. Never was killed.
