Yes sir most companies have outlawed them. I ain't seen a spinning chain on a rig in over 10 years.

shite I ain't seen one in 20 years. Hell the only thing that's manual on most of the new rigs is using a dope brush

An older guy I worked with claimed he used to pop chains to get out of work . Which wouldn't surprise me he was a lazy feller

I left offshore in 2001, been on land ever since. I love it. Working in south Texas, pretty good work, easy wells.
