Yeah I’d assume it’s somewhat of a similar setup on these new ones just with a solenoid or something controlling the lever. We used to just count the clicks. If it was stuck in park neutral was two clicks back. It makes sense that now you need someone to tell you what gear it’s in by looking at the dash because of electronics.

Had that happen on my wife's '21 burb. Fuel control module. As far as I know, there is no way to get to neutral. Car died in the road, POURING down rain. Dealership sent a tow. Replaced under warranty
