Low prices this year

quote:

A wild gator that is seven feet or longer sells for around $12 to $15 a foot. A 10-foot gator at $13 per foot will be purchased for $130. When the price was $40 per foot, that same gator was purchased for $400.

Gator hunters ain't getting rich. Catch 20 a day that's about $1000. Fuel in the boat going to be over $100, plus gas for truck. Not sure how much tags costt. Split between two people. Not a bad day of work but the work ain't that easy. Plus you got to deal with rotten chicken for bait.

The whole show is. I know someone that was on the first season, and he said they reenacted his scene of him shooting the alligator after it was already dead.

FWIW... None of these guys do just Alligator hunting for a living. Bruce's family is the probably closest to full time alligator hunting/farming/processing, only because they do it all.

price has been shitty for a while now but thanks to swamp people the real money is in bringing people from outside Louisiana on guided gator hunts, that's what we're doing this year
