Do you ever trade the ones you have or just keep buying more?

I've traded or sold less than 5 guns. My intention is to keep them.

I've never parted with a gun. Only time that will happen is when I give them to my sons.

Lol, I don't have anything against people owning guns. I'm just curious if you like looking at them, you shoot them all regularly, you like trading them, or if some are purchased as an investment.

Please be aware that there are what we call “Bloomberg shills” lurking in the comments of gun blogs and forums at present. It has been going on since before the election, and we first noticed it as far back as our January 8th, 2012 article “2nd Amendment Voters Should Vote Ron Paul.” At first it seemed like fun because they got a lively discussion going, and many of our articles have over 400 comments just because of a few anti-gun comments peppered in by a shill here and there. But as more and more of them have come in, we have begun to realize that it is better to delete them. The anti-gunners have a plan, and that plan is to make gun people look stupid, heartless, and separate from the values of mainstream America.

Paranoid much? You've got to be kidding me. A few of my friends have a lot of guns. I love looking at them and shooting them. I'm just trying to gain more of an understanding. I think it's cool to have something that will hold its value and pass it on to your kids someday.
It isn't worth much, but my grandpa's (no longer alive) rifle is one of my most prized possessions.

Currently, and only for the time being, I only own 2 handguns. A Taurus .357 revolver (for home protection) and a Springfield XDS 45 for CW. I can't spend any money on more weapons right now because we are saving house down payment money. As soon as we buy a house, the first gun I buy will be a Mossberg 930 SPX, then some kind of rifle.

You're starting to contradict yourself and making yourself look unintelligent in the process.

The reason you need more than two-three guns is because there are more than 2-3 different hunting situations that require different guns.

With your reasoning, a farmer/Gardner only needs two tools, a rake and a shovel. Sure, they could probably get the job done, but the work would be of poor quality. Why not use a tool designed to do the exact task? By using that special tool, the job is done quickly and effectively.

The goal of a hunter is to take an animal ethically, taking a clear shot and dispatching the animal quickly, not maim and injure the animal and it suffer in the process.

It's doubtful, but hopefully this common sense response will help you understand the need of more than two guns.

Nope, not paranoid at all. Just calling it like I see it. Most of your responses sound more like the typical anti-gunner than someone who is genuinely interested in acquiring more.

quote:

Never bought a gun in my life. I rarely hunt, but when I do, I borrow my dad's Remington 870.

quote:

Why would anyone need more than 2-3 guns? I can see having one for waterfowl/pheasants, one for deer, and then I'm stumped. Maybe one for target shooting?

Why would anyone need to buy a gun if you don't hunt?

To further drive home my point, you could use one rifle or shotgun in every instance.

In that case we (hunters) would be guilty of the exact thing that anti-hunter accuse us of... Not having the animal best interest in mind.
