yep under a popping cork. we were having boat trouble and i decided to cast while we were waiting on the the motor and soon as the cork hit the water boom! She came to the top of the water and as soon as i saw that purple line in the water i knew what i had.

almost lost the fish. got stuck in the motor got it out the when the old man went to net the fish he tossed it back in the water.

I fished the lease pond again but noy caught 3 bass this weekend. I guess after catching and moving over 35 bass, the remainng 1.5 acres of water a getting a little barren.

Also set up the hog trap and baited with some strawberry soured corn. The dad gum hogs are getting smart. All of the corn was eaten around the trap and even jsut inside the door but none of it in the trap was touched. I was hoping on Sat night they would go ahead and go for the big pile but they didnt and I dont have time during the week to check the trap so it got tied open. Maybe they will get used to ging in to eat and not be so scared this coming weekend.

Went out of Cocodrie. Sat. was windy in the AM and the water was dirty. Picked up 84 with 2 boats and 5 people. Sunday, same people cleaner water and less wind, 5 limits. Specks of course.

Nice fish. I saw a couple that size in Lake Salvador, the water around the grass I was fishing was clear, but they didn't want to hit anything I threw at them

Took my ungrateful teenagers, and their infinitely more grateful friends on a 5 hr charter out of OB on a 36' Cape Horn with triple 350 rice rockets. Needless to say, we got out there faster than most. Freaking sharks at one stop scarfed up at least 5 sow snapper and caused a bunch of lost time (PowerPro just doesn't part easily), so we had to work to get limits of bigger fish. Got our 12, 3 triggers, 1 beeliner and 1 suicidal lemonfish that tried to climb in the boat with us before settling for a squid on the pitch rod.

Saw tons of limits of snapper, including some really nice size fish on the boats that went out a little deeper (we never got over about 110').

I had one day of full yard leave. Wasted it going with 3 guys that wanted to frick off. One of them usually fishes pretty hard and we do good together. Today they just wanted to run and gun trying to find schools of bar fish. Was a complete waste of gas and time for me. Lesson learned.
