You can but I just soak the bark good and it does the job. Works great on privet too.

Definitely not a popcorn tree. i think that is some kind of what I would call wild pear. The one I know of doesn't ever make anything close to being edible though. Someone else can probably give you a name.

Yeah I can see how some of those pics were a bit deceiving. Either way if your trees were in my backyard I'd cut them down and poison the stump. Only would I poison a standing tree if it were in place I didn't care about looking bad for a few years. I've found its much easier to cut down a green tree than a dead one when its branches have become dried out and stiff.

speaking of, that's what I need to buy next.

I don't want to spend $400 on an Echo, what's a reasonable chainsaw that won't fail?
