The is a forum on the internet for Ford trucks. It was pretty good when I had my Expedition. Just info, no BS like a Honda message board.

I wouldn't think it would be a blend door as those usually fail closed, or if it failed open it would work all the time.
Sounds like either low on fluid as said or an electrical issue that's only working when at higher rpms.
