Worked all week on getting da' boat ready to go put some fish on the deck. I'm taking out the gf for her first trip saltwater fishing. I usually head out to Delacroix, but i've been wanting to launch out of Bayou Bienvenue and try out some rock jetties along the surge protector and the main river. Can anyone give me a few tips about this area, or if its even worth heading out there in the morning.

Also contemplated going chase sac-a-lait in Bayou Black or Lake Verret.

Just trying to get her on some fish and take my boat out for a nice run.

TIA, tight line baws!

bold move in the cold

I have nothing to offer on the area other than we trolled the rocks the day after thanksgiving and caught a mixed bag of trout/reds/bass

Don't do that! I took my now wife and then fiance to Stump Lagoon and Muscle Bay on a cold December morning. Limit of trout, 7 reds and she will not return. Now if you want her to dislike fishing there, by all means take her.

Fished Hopedale this morning. Cold day but had 3 limits of reds by 8:30. Were catching them on just about every cast but 2/3 of them were just under 16”. Caught a few drum and a nice bass but no specks. Fished grasslines off of some points. Most were caught at one spot.

Went out this afternoon in the Mobile Delta and limited out on specs in 1 hour. Caught them on Matrix grubs in about 18’ water. Was a blast!
