Totally admit it.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the bird and I believe he should be hunted a certain way. I don’t care how other folks do it and you won’t find me telling someone else they’re wrong for pursuing the bird by any legal means…..

But if you want the real experience, everything the hunt offers, there are only certain ways to achieve it.

BTW…I don’t low crawl but sure as hell admire guys who can do it and be successful

My dogs are smart but can't read a posted sign.

If we keep up all this divisiveness amongst the outdoor brotherhood it's just more fuels for the "anti's".

Get some shock collars and keep up with the dogs. Back off a deer that runs on private land

Tell me you have never eaten wild turkey without actually telling me you've never eaten wild turkey.

I do not find any taste difference between domestic & wild. I could pick out wild legs, because its like eating a running shoe.

You’re thinking of hog trappers.

When you meet them you think they’re about half-cooked. Then when you see the sort of rainman genius level stuff they come up with to trap their quarry you’re amazed.

"shooting them from a roost".

Years ago I went turkey hunting for the first with a good friend that was really good at it. He called a gobbler from a long ways away. Took him about 45 minutes and finally the turkey was really close. I was really nervous. Right at daybreak. Then "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!" Some jerk heard him calling and cut off the turkey and shot him out of a tree just about 40 yards straight in front of us. Scared the crap out of me. My buddy went and cussed him out. I was really amazed at the talent my friend had at calling.

Nah,,, They just sneaky. Got to be these days.. I do see the Preston Pittman and Tom Kelly wannabes correcting everyone! A turkey hunter who says he is a great turkey hunter probably isn't.

Most of them were hunting in the 1980's, and met Preston et.al.

Some of the " knock back down to equal level" folks were not even born at that time.

Its kinda like, we want what you have now. We don't want to work up the ladder. Now !

You haven’t met tenfoe then. On a limb, under feeder, walking across road, he’s killing it. He’d write a book, but doesn’t want to give up his trade secrets. His gram going to be epic this season.

On a limb

Only turkey I ever shot on a limb flew to me in the National Forest at 2pm in the afternoon and lit right above me. I had been waiting on him all day and he finally came but didn't want to walk across a big burned area I guess so he flew to me. Took about 10 min for me to get my gun up and shoot him.

Never done it and never will

walking across road

Like a public road? Am I hunting next to it or in a vehicle? Never shot one from a truck but I did shoot one across a public road once. I had permission on both sides though.

My trade secret is do everything I can to appear to him to be a real hen that he needs to get within shotgun range of. And if that doesn't work, get sneaky and crawl in range.

You know it. Done bought up 4 junkyards worth of old tractors and pickup trucks to use as props for my followers. Got some new hashtags I've been working on that I hope will catch on with the rest of the #prostaffers. Going to get my fade tightened up and my jewelry polished March 12 in anticipation.

Just thought of another one that was shot across a public road. Similar deal, I was hunting. For what it's worth, the turkey ended up being on the side of the road I had permission for when he was shot.
