I will allow it. The one must rule is that a spinning rod be held with your dominant hand. Casting is more flexible due to the design differences. I don't care for reeling with left with casting, but it's not something I will judge you for like a flat billed cap, neck tat or cargo shorts.

I'm right-handed. Spinning reels I cast right handed and crank left-handed (like normal people).
My baitcasters I have taken my dad's habit of switching the crank to left side as well. Growing up, I kept it on the right side, but my dad figured out he didn't have to change hands making the switch to left-handed crank.

I use to watch the Alaskan bush people show until I saw one of them fishing like that just after he explained how they survived by fishing
