My sister told me there was one in New Orleans near the old Pizzo Leather Company. But this was years ago and it bore fruit. Doubt it is still standing.

I have always heard that any fruit tree starting with P or A requires a pair at least.
Peaches, Plums, Apples, Apricots and I guess Avocados. They need cross pollination from other plants to bear fruit.
They got to have tree sex.
I would like to grow some avocado trees, sort of inspired knowing it can be done here. (If I could grow good olives I would be in heaven)

I tried growing one when I lived in Abita Springs. Built a plastic house around it and put a light for warmth in winter. It grew to 6 feet but froze.
