I got delayed every single time before I moved to a state with a CCW bypass. Every. Single. Time. SSN. UPIN. Nothing worked.

Most of the time it was for a full day. Had a few go past the three business days and it would take Thursday to Monday to pick it up on the worst of times. Learned to never buy from big box stores and just always go FFL who will release as they are allowed.

Just wait. For those without a bypass its coming to you all. FBI doesnt have to give proceeds. Thats first on Biden's list to just instruct delay. And then they will make it so FFLs can't release after the current three days because its a loophole and thus you have created a situation where no one can ever take possession legally.

It was up to 2 years for an appeal under Obama.

Dark days ahead for lots of states.

Me also. I tell clients to expect it. Mine stems from the Georgia Department of Revenue....I requested a taxpayer ID number from them in 1993 and at that time, for some inexplicable reason, they were filing a property lien against all new applicants for 90 days after getting an ID from them. Despite the background check only going back 10 years for some reason that lien is always found....I add a comment to any investigation report I do including this information but it always holds up the process. It has never been an issue but it always takes a little longer.

It also cause me to have to go through an interview every time my security clearance is renewed. Again, no big deal, but it is there. That lien, which was satisfied as soon as I did the third month filing using my newly acquired taxpayer id #, is the only blemish on my background or credit report since 1983. I did lose a vendor account as soon as it happened but their prices were to high anyway and I have had the pleasure of steering many multi-million dollar contracts away from that company because of the branch managers snide attitude when I asked why my account was closed....

It took me about 30-40 minutes Saturday as the computer went into research mode. Talking to the gun dealer, he said this has been pretty common lately as you're getting about 80 million people a day trying to buy a gun these days. Delay isn't always a no-go, happens all the time and usually takes 2-3 days. Sucks when you're ready to get it and go on a weekend and have to wait now.
