Geco ammo recall, 9mm-DEAL BACK UP
Posted on 5/27/22 at 12:46 pm

I got this email the other day, it turned out I had ordered a batch that is listed.
What I had ordered was 1k loose 124gr FMJ, in an ammo can. Cost was approx $300 to the door, so I'm assuming it was a popular deal. If you got any Geco, Norma, Ruag etc you might want to check your lots

What I'm reading in the recall, it's a crimp issue that might cause setback.

This doesn't appear to be over-loads, bad primers etc.
So as I read this- if you take measurements with a caliper, and the OAL is ok, and you don't plan to cycle this stuff other than to shoot at the range, would this be ok to keep, you think?

The feeding of the round could further seat the projectile. Also, the recoil from one fired round could make the other projectiles jump forward.

Just sucks sending a full case back. I noticed their email stated a refund, not a replacement. $300 for full load 124gr fmj is not easy to find right now.
I've also noted that I responded to their email yesterday, and still haven't heard back yet. I know it's a holiday weekend, but I'd just as soon get this over with.

Update:
I got the refund, it went through mid June.
Of note, they are now listing this deal again, Geco 124gr FMJ 1k loose in a plano can, $299.
Since I had to return the last order, there is supposed to be a 20% discount.
I was never mailed a coupon code, so I logged into my account. There is a section there that says "coupons". I clicked that, it was empty, but had a message that said "must have an item in cart to show codes".
I went and put the Geco case in my cart, while having my account page open in another tab. Sure enough, there was now a button saying 20% discount, click to apply. I did, price dropped from $299 to $239 (plus change). Free shipping option, which I took. After tax (23.88), my total cost to door is $263.87.
I've never had problems with Geco in the past, outside of this recall issue. I went ahead and ordered, as this is still one of the better prices you're going to find on 9mm right now.
