I was given some tuna from a friend. How long will it be good if kept refrigerated? It doesn’t smell bad, but I don’t know when it was caught. I assume last weekend. Thanks.

Getting long in the tooth. If you can't eat it all before Sunday then I would suggest keeping the rest to make smoked tuna dip or pass it along before then when it's still ok

Vacuum seal and freeze some of it. Frozen is never better than fresh but it beats the hell out of it spoiling

I may cook a steak tomorrow and make a dip. Anyone have a smoked tuna dip recipe?

Freeze or eat by the end of the weekend. Cut out the blood line before freezing, if there is any. The sooner you freeze it the better it will keep, but a fatty fish like tuna doesn't last long even frozen. Enjoy it sooner rather than later.

It’s no good, way past it’s prime. Drop it off at Unc’s, and for no fee, I’ll dispose of it for ya.

I would take a chunk, add ponzu sauce, cube up some avocado and start eating

I like to cube it up with a avacado and sesame seeds with Ken's Steakhouse Lite Asian Sesame with Ginger & Soy Dressing. Gonna eat it tomorrow.

I have had it. That is where I got my idea from. Last time I had it at bon temp I was not impressed. Half shell has the same thing.

Calm down Paul.

If I come back with tuna I’m searing it. Don’t ask me how it came to be but the best tuna I ever had was marinaded in zing zang Bloody Mary mix. Gives it a good acid kick and makes for a nice flavor.
