Flag mount for cement board columns

We've got square hardie columns on our front porch. I realize there is actual substantial support on the inside of them, but i just dont want to drill into them. Anyone know of any alternative mounting brackets or any ideas on how to have something substantial without having to drill?

What about some kind of strap bracket? You could paint the straps to blend in with the column color.
