Specifically right near kiva dunes. Worth a shot this time of year? If so, what am I fishing for and what am I throwing at them? Better to go to the beach with some fish bites?

Better fishing on the Gulf Plantation side. Water on the bay side is shallow and usually a lot of hard heads in that area.

Plantation West buildings, walk straight out water, go west about fifty yards and cast out. There is a small rockpile or structure between first and second sandbars. If it is calm use a topwater red/white or chartreus top dog. Usually some specs in the evening there.

I stayed at the Plantations the last couple summers, but I’ve just wade fished on the bay side at the sand ramp between St Andrews Bay and Navy Cove or in Little Lagoon at the kayak landing off Ft Morgan Rd.

I can’t see any kind of rock pile or structure near Plantation West and the only people I’ve seen fishing are the guys that surf fish tight lining on the shore. Where is the structure directly out from?

Nah, we own a lot near navy cove. Fishing on that side generally sucks and will get you mostly croaker and hard heads with an occasional flounder in there.

Those fanned out marshes right there look like great fish habitat. I always assumed fishing was really choice around there.

Plantation West is the three story buildings. To the west of there fence line go to the second house. two story I think it is blue. Straight out from there probably fifty to 75 yards straight out. It is more of a rock mound, high point between the bars. Early mornings you will sometimes see the bait boats come by it.
