Well I learned my lesson last year.

When spring arrives, I have a nice sized hickory tree that's starting to rot and needs to come down. I'll have someone cut it up for me and I'll probably split it myself. I'll have firewood for 3-5 years from that one tree.

Hickory wood is good firewood, correct?

I've never split hickory but I imagine it's pretty tough.

I miss selling firewood. Splitting cords with a maul and a couple wedges helped get me through college without being broke or fat
