There’s a guy on CAL Road. About $250 per cord.

He’s between Bluebonnet and Inniswold. All oak. Don’t have his number, but there’s a sign out front.

Holy crap that's high. For around my area anyway. SW Arkansas. $130 for a cord. Oak.

Bruh you can get like $450 a cord around these subdivisions selling it 10 pieces at a time

I just don't know how anyone makes any money at that rate.
They must just love the work

Yeah you can't compare rural areas to urban areas when it comes to fire wood.

That's definitely correct. A cord delivered and stacked was $150 the past few years. Increased to $175 this year. Now I'm getting a truck bed of red oak for $75

Is there anywhere up near Woodville or St. Francisville that sells it? I am back and forth that way pretty regularly and could pick it up.

A lot of people on Craiglist advertise they are selling a cord of wood and it's only a pick up bed of wood, which may be 1/3 of a cord.
When I call them I ask them measurements and get a commitment to those measurements and type of wood. A cord should be 4'high X 4' wide X 8' long.

Yeah and then a lot of people sell "surface" cords as cords when they're really a half cord (4'H x 2'W x 8'L). It looks the same from the front but it's only half as deep.
As a result, often the pricing you're seeing from different sellers isn't congruent to the same volume. Need to make sure and get a measurement commitment like Doctor Strangelove mentioned.

I put 1/2 cord in my bed twice a year, and have to stack it higher than the rails. A short bed 1500 isn't gonna be driving around with that in it (not to mention the weight)

You can put a half cord in a half ton 6' bed but you have to stack it perfect and itll still be a little over the rails. Did it many times

Found the number: 225- 888-5098

Finding seasoned wood is a hard thing. It's all marketed as "seasoned" but everyone apparently has their own idea of what that means. I think if it hasn't sat up for a "season" it's not seasoned. These baton rouge folk are cutting trees in August, splitting it September and selling it in November as "seasoned."

Holy shite. I get it delivered and stacked for $120. I do live in the shite hole known as southeast Arkansas tho.

Yep. Last year I bought a half chord from "The Firewood Guys" in BR (I think that was their name) in a pinch. It was last minute and $175 I believe. They stacked it for me, which was great.
But it was wet as hell. I got home and saw how wet it was. I picked up a few pieces and they were heavy AF. I called to complain and they said it was because it had been very rainy lately. I countered with the fact that they advertise on their social media page that they keep all their firewood under an enormous metal roof to protect it from the rain. Then she came back at me with "well it was very rainy today when we delivered it". It rained the day before but the day it was delivered was cloudy and dry. I pointed that out to her and she didn't say anything. They eventually came by and replaced it all with what they called "dry" wood.
Their idea of "dry" and "seasoned" wood took hours to burn because they replaced it with more wet wood.
I will NEVER buy from those scam artists ever again.

Almost every person selling firewood gets it from tree companies around town. It is typically not covered, and almost never seasoned for a full season.
If you buy it after it has been cold once, 99% chance you're gonna get stuff that was cut that summer
