Yeah. Why would they buy something that costs more. They want the best coverage, with the best company, with the best rating, lowest deductible, for cheaper than what they are paying now.

Insurance has made me hate people

Well people are the reason you have insurance. If you didn't have to worry about Willie coming into your house/camp and stealing your gun, or some contractor fricking up your house and it catching on fire then you really wouldn't need insurance.

They are never happy when I tell them they have ACV and not replacement cost. Oh, no that is not what I bought. Let me call my agent, 5 minutes later, well I guess I did...

I notice they've been creeping up on car insurance also.

I was told they all were. My parents rates went up at the same time mine did and they are with SF

I am on the replacement side of the business(I buy you new stuff) but replacement cost endorsements are not that much more, very minimal. And compare it to how you would get paid out on an ACV policy, you would be a moron not to get it.

BTW, in Florida, they dont depreciate claims at all. so you get paid at full value no matter what. now your deductible might be 10-20% of your house value though

If you've been with them over 3 years you are fine. I think it is statewide, but not positive.

Not hurricane related, wind hail related. Any wind or hail loss, regardless of hurricane-related or not, will be subject to the 2% deductible.

I feel you. I won't sell a policy without replacement cost unless they beg for it and then they have at least 3 waivers I'm making them sign.

Ouch. I have heard that Allstate and State Farm are looking to depreciate roofs even with R/C on policies...

I'm a fan of going to all ACV on roofs and $5,000 deductible, but waived for claims over $5,000.

Market would be much more desirable.

I'm still trying to figure out why I have to pay the insurance company 2k when my house was broken into and they send me a check right back. How about I don't and we say I did?

Insurance guys, how does USAA rate compared with the other major companies? I've had them for auto insurance for years and now that we're looking to buy a house I'll be shopping home insurance soon.

I have heard they are very good, compared to other companies, If you qualify. I have had no direct dealings.
