I have a live oak in the front yard and a huge water oak in the back yard. The live oak is probably about 35 years old. The water oak is huge... Probably about 2 1/2' diameter. I plan to start a tree house project for the kids this summer. BTW... A silver maple is one of the fastest growing trees, so they are good trees to plant for newly contructed houses.

For some reason I have been really wanting to plant a granddaddy greybeard. I see a lot of them around here, and they are really pretty.

The proper way to prune a Crepe Myrtle is to make it look like a friggin tree. I hate when people commit crepe murder.

I should post picks of mine in my yard, you'd love them...after they bloom that is.
