Father's Day Gift

I gave myself an early father's day gift; Ruger Super Redhawk .454 Casull. Pistol is stainless with 7-1/2" barrel. Ammo is a bit pricey, $43.00 for 20 rounds. It is an absolute "BLAST" to fire.

You better have some damn good earmuffs. If I ever shoot one again I'll have plugs and muffs on. I shot the one with the 2.5" barrel though.

A 260 grain bullet @ 2050 fps is going to generate muzzle blast and recoil. However, both are subjective. I definitely wear muffs and the blast doesnt bother me, neither does the recoil. The .454 has more retained energy @ 100 yds than the .44 mag has at the muzzle.

My dad and I went to montana last year on an elk trip. I picked up some spruce and long pole pine and had duck calls made. That's what he is getting.
