Dad's gone to the big fishing hole in the sky, and I don't have any kids (that I know about).

So I bought myself a horse for Father's Day.

Make sure to go stand at the fence as the cars come past you at least once.

When my father was 18 years old, he bought his first 2 firearms. A Remington .308 model 778 and a Henry lever action .22. The .308 is an awesome rifle and stopped being made in 1983. He passed that rifle down to me when I was a teenager and its 1 of my most prized possessions.

But when my father was in his early 20s, he joined a cheap hunting club with a few of his friends. There were also a lot of people he didnt know that well in there. During the hunting season, he would keep his firearms at his camp, which was just a small personal trailer. Well, someone in that club broke into multiple camps and stole multiple rifles and guns from other members. My dads Henry .22 was 1 of those that was stolen. Nobody found out who stole it or anything... needless to say a lot of people left that hunting club after that.

Well, every time we go shooting my Dad always mentions how that Henry .22 was his favorite gun hes ever owned. He never came out and said he wanted to get it or buy another 1 or anything like that, so my mom never thought to get it for him. But he loves the history and tradition of the Henry Repeater and all that.

So this Fathers Day, I had enough $$$ to buy him 1. Got him the Henry Lever Action .22Mag. Its a beautiful gun and the smoothest lever action I have ever shot. He had no idea he was getting it and when he opened it up, he didnt say a word and got a little teary eyed. I told him its a trade for the .308.... Ill hold onto that for him and he will hold onto this for me. Easily 1 of the best moments in our relationship.
