We had three guys, and we wasted no meat. One with the filet knife cutting around the dorsal and along the collar bone then above the guts, takes about 1 seconds.

The other two were skinning and breaking the backbone.

My old man got a new fillet knife that is so badass you can't go slow. It's wayyyyyyyyyyy to much power for bream and bass and shite. It's like using a 20" chainsaw to clean fish.

My dad had an older one that's badass. We couldn't find it so he bought a berkley one from walmart (don't do it, POS) After fighting with that one for a year, we found the old one and my brother broke the berkley. I started using the old one and it was ridiculous. I cut straight through the fish the first 3 I did Way easier

I used to be able to fish them on artificials with success, not now. Those fish look everything over with a fine tooth comb; live shiners don't even work sometimes...

I had a boat fishing the lights earlier this week and asked how they were doing. They said they could see the fish but couldn't get anything to bite. Those fish come hungry at dark but usually fill up quick. I guess they just hang out for something to do after that...

They inspect everything hard, artifiicals have little luck. I do have a couple of bass tonight as well as about 30 sacalait in the light, didn't throw a bait. One of the bass is in the photos, but normally the game fish only dart in to eat and don't stay in the light like the gar...

I was at a friends house down there about 3 weeks ago, and the sacs would come up sideways to eat the shad passing through the light, i guess they were blocking the light with one side of their body to see the shad above them...they came from the shadows, it was cool to watch

Most are small around 2'. When the water is a little higher, I reach down and poke them in the head with my finger. Normal they don't even move. I have tried but never succeeded with a hand grab...

Saw a boat pass heading downriver about 15 minutes ago, normally very little at night during the week.
