It sounds unlikely but it's really easy. There's a metal plate on a hinge with a slit cut in it on the door, and a metal loop in the doorframe, to lock it with a padlock. If you don't put something to stop the plate from swinging closed when you close the door, and you slam the door shut, you're stuck.

There was actually a homemade tool in the camp to unlatch it if that happens, but I couldn't find it

Today was first day of staggered start kindergarten at the neighborhood elementary. He was in pre-k last year at a Catholic school.

We walk in at about 8:10. He walks fine to the gym. At the door, he freezes. Lots of hugging on mama. Tears from both of them. mama takes him in the gym. He will not sit. When he does, mama leaves and the kid runs after her. Took over 10 minutes to get him settled.

The kids not eating breakfast must sit single file by class on the gym floor until 8:25 when their teach comes to get them. Looks like I'll be late for work for a few years. FML
