Don't know a lot about building ARs but i wanted to do one very easy and fairly cheap. How good is Aero precision? I was thinking of keeping it simple for the first time.

Complete lower LINK

and their complete upper LINK

If you're looking for a cheap build, palmetto has the ar-10 lowers on sale for $250. That aero upper is a good price and will fit it. Palmetto also has 6.5 creedmoor complete stainless uppers on sale for $499. That's a complete 6.5 cm AR for $750. Can't beat it for the price.

You had better double check that. Not saying you are wrong but the Palmetto Armory PA-10 series has some proprietary parts and tolerances that precludes using them with other brands in some cases. I remember reading that on their site.

Thanks. I've seen their site before and a lot of their stuff is back ordered. One thing I don't understand, why would one complete lower be 200 cheaper than what looks like a similar complete lower? Looks like Palmetto has one on sale today for only 159.

Noticed that as well.

quote:

The AR10 platform does not enjoy a common design between manufacturers, like the AR15. As a result, there can and will be subtle differences in the parts kits of various manufacturers. Some parts, like the fire control group, are shared with the AR15 platform to preserve the options for upgrading. For best results, we recommend only using PSA PA10 parts with our uppers and lower receivers. We do not recommend using other manufacturers parts in our products.

What do you consider “inexpensive”?

I have one that’s a DPMS lower and Aero upper in 6.5cm. They are not inexpensive. BCG and charging handle are fairly pricey. You can find a ballistic advantage barrel for a good price right now. Granite State Armory has the best price.

I have a PSA lower and another Aero Upper. They look like they will fit but I don’t have he part kits for the lower.

You do have to be careful with AR-10s they are not all compatible with each other.
DPMS will not fit with Armalite products.

You're right. My mistake. A friend of mine did a palmetto aero ar-15. I forgot the ar-10 was a different fit. As for the stuff being back ordered, I didn't check the availability but I was sent the ad for the lower and upper I mentioned yesterday. So it might be worth a look.

I guess maybe 1k or less. Not looking to spend daniel defense kind of money on the first one.

For cheaper I found a Stoner complete upper at midway and Anderson complete lower at sportsman's guide. Total that would only be about 800. LINK LINK

Just find you an Armalite DEF10 complete rifle that works with warranty. Were available for just under $1K - haven't checked lately.
