I was deer hunting in there Sunday and it sounded like a civil war reenactment down by the water. Pretty sure they was sky blasting.

I went last week. It was 78 degrees. Mosquitoes fricked me up. Saw a bunch of pelicans and gators. Not to mention the possum cop that went through all our shite while it was raining and we didn’t even shoot.

Girlfriend drilled a nice Sal about 55 lbs. Saw a fresh big rub 35 yards from my stand. Still haven't seen any deer but I have found buck beds. Just patiently waiting.

Man tell me about the deer hunting.

I know this sounds stupid but the last time I drove through there, there seemed to be no place at all to park. There's no shoulders so the sides of the road are difficult.

How do you park?

Also, it's bow only right? I assume alot of pressure with little return?

What are your thoughts/opinions?

Thanks.

I park off of Lucile which is off of lake rd. There is a parking spot there big enough for 3 trucks. When it's full, I see people parking off the side of the road. There is hardly any traffic. I had the same question earlier this year as this is my first year hunting BBM. I seen a few spots that ibwpukd like to scout but haven't been able to do so... scout it, hang a stand and put in time. I see hogs about every other hunt. And yes it's bow only as far as deer hunting

I'll be hunting more to the Mandeville side than you are, have just parked on the side of the road when I've gone back there before. There a few of us in here that have or will hunt there. Would expect the rut in that area around new years I'd think, maybe a little after

I have hunted it only a few times. The sky blasting is unbelievable, I thought I was next to a gun range. You can kill a few ducks, and work your butt off if you just want to shoot something. But if you are a duck hunter purist and only like to shoot "good ducks" you will be disappointed. I think Pearl River WMA is better and has more opportunity, and less work, but depending on what you want to do.
