Bush hogged half late today. It was wet and standing water in spots in the field but the forecast has the smallest chance of rain tomorrow and Monday than we have had for a month.

Millions of seed on the ground---mostly still green. I am hopeful that Tuesday it will have dried enough to burn. Rain chances pick up through the week.

Starting to dump the chopped corn this week and next. Then spread wheat week before season opener. Easiest recipe for hundreds of birds every yr

Y’all, make it seem simple. Here in the Ms. Delta it is hit or miss now days. Corn has been getting cut for 10 days, And I have seen some soybeans cut already( dry land).

I’m sure whoever’s has rice, and got it in the ground on time, will start in 5-10 days. Then the usual storm blows them to only God knows where if they aren’t spread out over the whole damn delta eating corn, soybeans, rice and weed seeds out the back of a combine. It is pretty hard on an old delta boy almost every year.

The earlier we start harvesting the sooner the birds get scattered. Our best bet is to get close to a town/city and pray a storm doesn’t come through the week of the opener.
Thank God for the cooking, beer, BSing, and friends/family.
