Years ago, a buddy and I were fishing on the dope boat and catching trout on live shrimp. We had caught about 20-30 when we started getting sharp tugs then limp lines. After losing 3 like that, my bud tied on a steel leader and hooked the next one. We had a lot of fun catching a couple of sharks from 2 to 4 feet then left that place.

All of those spots are gone now.
For those who fish in Barataria Bay I can still remember when Saturday Island had an island now its just some well heads. "Coupa Bel" (Pass Abel) wasn't nearly as big as it is now, just like 4 Bayou Pass.
The destruction of the marsh is mostly complete now, just go to Empire and when you go over the bridge you will see Bay Empire.....where there use to be a beautiful marsh.
Sickening just sickening
