Do any of yall have them for your dogs for hunting. If so, do they really work? I brought my lab out for her first duck hunt opening weekend and it was only 60 that morning and her jaw was chattering.

I only use mine to help her chest on sticks and other things. She's hunted in ice before with out one. My vest was a thick cloth they make some out of neoprene that may keep em a little warmer dont know if they are as tough.

Your dog was probably just excited. My dog shakes when dove hunting in 85 degree weather.

thats usually from excitement. My lab does that when we are training in the summer sometimes

jumping in cold water to put a duck in their mouth is like crack to them...

the shaking is a anxious mechanism that dogs have when they are excited... I promise it isnt from being cold... all you have to do it feel you dogs under belly and as long at that is warm the dog isn't cold... I have a neoprene vest for mine but rarely use it for two reason:

1. Dog hates it
2. It is never cold enough in South Louisiana to use it...

The only time is really use it is if it below freezing or if it is the first time I go out there for the year so the it helps her break the brush down and not stab he in the belly/chest area...

The reason it worries with me with this dog is the fact that she doesn't have a lot of fat. She was hit by a car when she was a pup and her throat is all messed up so it is almost impossible to fatten her up. My last two labs never shook this much from excitement. She was rattling the boat it was so bad.

The vest will not help that much in keeping her warm.

It mainly just helps to keep the wind off of them.
