Dog keeps bringing ticks into the house...

Any recommendations to keep ticks from latching on to him? He's on meds so if they latch they'll die, but he's a tick taxi right now. Brings them in and they jump off and end up on us...

Can you spray or put down talstar?

If that was an issue for me, I'd invest in a good sprayer, some top notch insecticide and get to work.
You must live rural to have that issue going on. At worst, living in the middle of the city, I have an issue with fleas from time to time, especially this time of year. After two or three sprayings it is usually under control.

Permethrin spray should work.

I haven't found anything to completely keep them off of the dogs. We live on 20 acres out in the country.
They dogs have soresto collars, I spray them with permithrin, and I treat the yard around the house with talstar P. They still bring them in.

My grandpa used to throw his dogs in creosote dip. Kept it in a 55 gallon barrel with a wash tub for a lid. First dunking of the year he could catch any dog he wanted but after that if they heard the washtub rattling around he couldn't find any for a week or so.

Any critter which can lick its own anus is supposed to live outside, bros.

My mom always called ours "farm dogs" and when they would walk up to her she would say "those farm dogs belong outside"

Easiest and most effective is a fence. We are surrounded by the national forest and if a pet so much as steps foot out there it's covered with em. Just last week I picked over 500 off a stray.
Ticks grab on as the dog goes by and even if they are treated with something the tick can't jump off.
