In Klondike marsh on Monday, had one of those ducks you can't kill grabbed him again and rang is neck, when I grabbed him he raised up his foot and scratched the piss out of me in my right hand, and now it hurts like hell. Not reddened too bad, not warm or swollen but really painful

Just asking, is there any weird bad bacteria out in the marsh that one would need to worry about?

I mean yeah...

Any open wound can get infected if you're not careful

ETA: that being said, rub some dirt on it and man up

Well no shite, but I ain't talking about an ordinary puss infected cut.

This mother fricker hurts in the damn bone it feels like. For as good as it looks, that is how bad it feels and I find that odd.

The wife (animal doc.) just said you could get a bacterial infection, but parasites from feces on their feet getting into your skin could cause a problem if you got scratched good..

Yes. Do you still have the Duck? Scrape the foot AMD save the dirt in car hand gets crazy. Might help to identify the bacteria. I had a forearm opened up during a duck hunt....terrible infection...feel on afoot ofa push pole

No doubt this could help, but bacteria can come from anything in the marsh. Mud, water, boat, whipping your arse and not washing, monkey semen - any and everywhere. The duck is the least of his problems.
