I've warranty up till 125k. I may have to pull some favors and send it in for water pump, turbo, injectors and steering rack. Always good to have a mechanic friend at the local Chevy dealer.
I may not look into any of those tuners either. Those things make me nervous too.

I have an Edge CTS tuner, DPF delete straight pipe, and a BANKs RAM air.
I had a water pump put in. This was all done while I was in the hospital. When they got the water pump on, they said it wouldn't run right and said it was probably due to the aftermarket stuff. I agreed and said I would handle it once I got out of the hospital. I figured it was something minor like putting it back to stock and retuning it. No problem. Well that wasn't the case. I've tinkered with it all day today and can't figure it out. The screen in the truck, nor the programmer are showing any trouble codes.
ETA: I've had all that shite on there since about 30k miles and it now has almost 150k with no problems whatsoever to date.

What what do you mean its not running right?
Posted on 5/9/13 at 5:40 pm to Bleeding purple
Won't go. It's like it is running in limp mode.
Posted on 5/9/13 at 5:44 pm to El Josey Wales
does it still run well at idle?
Posted on 5/9/13 at 5:45 pm to El Josey Wales
It showed Reduced Engine Power code the day I picked it up from the shop and limped home with it from the shop so I could mess with the tuner at my leisure. It still won't go, but I can't get it to do that code again.

You're not throwing any codes? It sounds like a sensor.

Runs perfectly fine at idle. Usually when something's wrong with it, it won't remote start. It remote starts fine and idles fine.

No codes at all. I'm still reading up in things. It sounds like it could be a MAF sensor.

Your maf may need a good cleaning. Hell I don't know, just thinking out loud.

based on your description I would assume it was something that they did that affected the engine. take a look at everything that was in the way of the water pump and make sure it was all re installed correctly don't forget to check the negative battery cable also

I can't think of anything cooling system related that would make it run poorly like that. You checked all of your temp sensor connectors?

My intake gets caked with soot.
Been up for almost 2 days, but me thinks maybe it has something to do with that water pump. I guess it can't get warm with limp dick mode going on. Maybe the system doesn't have pressure.
I have gotten bad parts from the store before
Eta: actually, I'd be willing to bet the mechanic knocked something loose

That's the thing, I just got out of the hospital 2 days ago and have a feeding tube dangling from my nose so I can only do so much at the moment.
From what I gather, the water pump installation is a pretty involved repair but I don't know what they could have removed that would make it not run right afterwards and not throw any codes.

If you do clean your Mass Air Flow sensor, be careful (if it has one). Those things are pretty sensitive instruments. Stay away from the "exposed coil".

I agree, I don't think its an actual cooling system component that is the problem. but they may have had to move other components to get to the cooling system. honestly with how suddenly the problem showed up it sounds electrical. I would have said the DPF filter is clogged but it's been removed

But what could it be? It seems to make a little different sound in the cab from the exhaust but I can't be certain on that.
With my current physical condition, and juggling doctors appointments and such, not to mention needing to go back to work soon, I just need my truck fixed.
This is just not a good time for this to be happening.

It could be a thousand things. Who knows what parameters are built into the truck to make it go into limp mode
Posted on 5/9/13 at 6:12 pm to Hammertime
This is the first time mine has EVER gone into limp mode. shite be crazy.
